- How much are you willing to spend
- What slot are they going to fill, particular skills
Interviewing
- Know what you want to learn from them
- Map out questions
- Ask for examples
- Set up a rating scale so you can rate candidates equally: also protects you against any hiring lawsuit/legal
- Use a pre-screen phone interview
- Ask the money question: what is your range
